Question: I purchased some letters from a company called Pressed Petals. They are supposed to be self adhesive letters but I cannot figure out how they stick to anything. They do not feel like they have any adhesive on them. Can you help me? I am making a sign for a 87 year old lady that lives in an assisted living place and she plays the keyboard and she needs a nice sign. She had one she made herself out of the bottom of cardboard box and it doesn’t look very good. So I purchased these letters and some foam core board for the sign and I did some gold leafing on the letters but darned if I know how to get them to stick to the foam core board. HELP PLEASE…
Answer: Usually self-adhesive letters have a back that you remove, kind of like a sticker. The ones from Pressed Petals usually stick right when you remove them from the cardboard backing. Since I am not sure which kind of letters you bought, I am not exactly sure on how yours sticks. If there isn’t a backing to remove, it may be possible that the adhesive is no longer sticky. I would use some glue dots or lines to stick them on. Pressed Petals also carries rub-on letters too — make sure you check what kind you have because rub-ons are applied differently.
