What kind of stain do you use for scrapbooking projects?

September 24th, 2007

Question: I am trying to make a frame with scrapbook paper on it I cut the paper out to fit the frame and tried to stain around the edges but you can see the brush marks.  Do you have a stain you like or an easy way to do it?

Answer: I usually use any kind of stain that I can find that is cheap.  This includes distress ink. It doesn’t actually have to be stain to give the same effect. I use the distress ink pad or the bottle and a soft cloth.

The best way to prevent brush marks is how you apply it.  I usually use a soft cloth or foam brush on the edges (or the ink pad).
